We asked, you answered

Total average score
4,2/5

A feedback survey was sent to everyone who participated in this year's event, and here is a summary of the results.

First of all, thank you! We received over 700 responses and many great comments and opinions. This average score already tells a lot about how well we did!

Communications

Before the event 4,1/5
Skier’s guide 4,4/5

We asked how well our communication worked before and during the event. The feedback on this was flattering. Although you gave us good grades, there was still room for improvement. In the open comments, we received feedback on the structure and shortcomings of the new pages, which will be improved and ensured that visibility would be better on all kinds of devices. All the information was in the skier's guide, but some people had trouble finding it. We will also try to improve this. Next year, all instructions will be available directly on our website. Better communication about the condition of the ski tracks was also requested. Before the event, we made over 400 social media posts, many of which reported the current situation in the Salpausselkä trail network, BUT we forgot that not everyone reads Facebook or Instagram stories where most of the so-called current communication was focused. In the future, we will also make news announcements on this topic and raise them to the more traditional sections of social media.

Ski tracks
4,4/5

Of course, ski tracks are at the center of a skiing event. This is also the issue that is hardest to influence, especially during low-snow winters. However, this year we were able to enjoy sunny weather and, according to the feedback, excellent ski tracks. Of course, there were some dissenting voices, and we will strive to further improve and clarify, for example, the marking of ski tracks. Good feedback was received for the removal of the fear section, even though it shortened the route slightly. This was hoped to be a permanent change, and maps have been taken to the course master's table to see if we can dig up the missing kilometers from somewhere else.

Race Center 4/5
Registration 4,7/5

This year we upgraded the registration system, and its functionality and ease of use were praised. Many have asked for old results, and this is a work in progress. At the moment, it is not possible to browse the results of old ski races, but the information is safe and will be made visible on the new pages once we have the background systems in order. The race center received praise, and the number pick-up went smoothly. The last week's registration rush was quite something, and we almost ran out of bib numbers. However, improvements still need to be made in the start organization, where we had a so-called mishap, and there were not enough people to guide participants to the correct groups. Larger portions were requested in the race cafeteria, but the product package received during registration was praised. At the stadium, we tried a new arrangement, where spectators were directed to the stadium area close to the skiers and the grandstand itself was closed. Unfortunately, some missed these instructions. The idea was to create a good atmosphere and support right next to the finish straight and start area. We received feedback on this both for and against, and we will consider how to proceed with this in the future.

The vast amount of open comments in the entire survey was overwhelming, and we continue to process them. From all the feedback and ideas, we will try to find areas for improvement and will send out a survey about these ideas.

All in all, the event was quite successful according to the participants, and this is a great starting point for the future! Registration for 2024 is now open!
