Relay
& Team race
Finlandia-hiihto is a great fun with a group of friends & work colleagues!
You can meet lots of new acquaintances on the track, but with friends you can challenge other groups of friends, clubs or even work communities by taking part in the Finlandia-hiihto Relay or Team Race.
Finlandia-hiihto brings back the Team Race, which was much missed in previous years, and a new Relay competition. Three participants are needed for each team.
Team Race
Finlandia-hiihto Team Race is open to teams of three for all distances (20 km, 32 km and 62 km) in classic and free-style technique. There is no limit to the number of participants per team - but only the combined time of the three fastest team members will be accepted in the team results.
There is no need to register separately for the team competition. A team will get formed if the criteria for the Team Race are met: there must be at least three participants in the same team to qualify for the final time.
If your group has enough members for multiple teams we will automatically form new Teams for you (ie. if your group has 10 members total, 3 teams will be formed for Team Race).
The team name will be selected at the time of registration. If you cannot find the team name you want on the list or if you want a new team, please contact info@finlandiahiihto.fi
The top three teams in all distances will be rewarded in the team competition.
Relay
Finlandia-hiihto Relay will be done by teams of three over a distance of 62 km in both classic and free-style technique.
The start will take place at the Lahti Sports Centre from the ski stadium. Changeover points are at the Hälvälä and Heinsuo service stations. The changing areas are marked. The changeover is done by touching the next messenger in the changeover area.
The three best teams in the relay will be awarded on Saturday and the three best teams on Sunday
