On Sunday, February 23, 2025, the freestyle races of the Finlandia Ski Marathon took place in spectacular conditions.
The classic skiing events of Finlandia Ski Marathon 2025 were held on National Skiing Day, Saturday, February 22, 2025. The first group of skiers took off at 8:00 AM in -1°C temperature with gusty winds reaching 8 m/s. The snowfall from Friday evening had cleared overnight, providing competitors with a dry and stable skiing environment.
On Saturday and Sunday, the first starts for the longest distance of Finlandia Ski Marathon, the 62-km classic and free, will take place as early as 8:00 in the morning.
The national fluoride ban introduced in the current 2024-2025 season in the snow sports under the Finnish Ski Association and its implementation have progressed as planned. Special attention will be paid to the top athletes in the competition series, between whom the brightest medals will be decided and price money awarded.
52nd Finlandia Ski Marathon with all distances is now confirmed. The original plan will remain at only 20 kilometers. The 32-kilometer route is slightly modified, and the 62-kilometer route will include 32 km twice.
Finlandia Ski Marathon will be held on the Lahti and Hollola, on the Salpausselkä ski tracks on February 22-23, 2025. During the winter the weather in Lahti has not been on the organizers' side, but the event consisting of different routes can be organized as planned.
Finlandia Ski Marathon and Vauhti ski wax have agreed about the cooperation in the biggest mass ski event in Finland. In addition, OneWay poles will ensure the spare poles on the service stations.
The Finlandia Ski Maraton route will change for the winter of 2025. To strengthen the snow security, field parts have been reduced from the route. Orinkarkaus service station will become two-way.
