International fluoride ban is valid in Finlandia Ski Marathon
The national fluoride ban introduced in the current 2024-2025 season in the snow sports under the Finnish Ski Association and its implementation have progressed as planned. Both athletes and service have responded constructively and responsibly to the changes brought about by the fluoride ban.
The mass skiing season is gradually going on. Mass skiing is subject to the fluoride ban and testing, because the fluoride ban applies to all competitions under the FSA and to all participants in the competitions.
However, in mass skiing and the upcoming Finlandia Ski Marathon, special attention will be paid to the top athletes in the competition series, between whom the brightest medals will be decided and price money awarded. The aim of mass skiing supervision is to ensure fairness in the competitions. In Finlandia Ski Marathon, a tester certified by the International Ski Federation (FIS) and the Finnish Ski Association (FSA) is responsible for the testing protocol.
All competitors participating in mass skiing events are recommended to ensure that their skis are fluoride-free. When using new fluoride-free products, it is important to ensure that the tools are either carefully cleaned or completely new.
We wish all competitors good luck and success in their future endeavors. Let's enjoy the peak of the ski season responsibly and in the spirit of fair play!
