From Pasta Party to the warmth of Sauna

A high-quality mass ski event doesn’t only include a rapid round on skis followed by a quick shower. Whether you’re traveling to Finlandia Ski Marathon with family, friends or by yourself, there is something to do for everyone. There’s also no need to stress about the event beforehand, since you can get your bib smoothly the previous day or in the morning of the Marathon, and food, drink as well as wax service are offered to you at service stations.

If you want Finlandia Ski Marathon to be a truly comprehensive event, you should start the weekend at the Pasta Party on Friday evening, where you can both fuel for the Marathon and chat with experienced Finlandia skiers. Food and good company can be enjoyed again after the Marathon, when the skiers are served a warm meal. The skiers can also warm and start the recovery in a traditional sauna near the finishing area.

During the Marathon, the organizers take care of everything to go smoothly. Finlandia Ski Marathon has equipment and ski storage at the race office. During the Marathon, the skiers get help in cases of broken ski poles or energy loss - not to forget the magnificent atmosphere that the cheering audience and volunteers create. On top of red cheeks, the skiers get a gift bag filled with high-quality and local products to bring home. Skiers who own a Worldloppet Passport get a start group upgrade and an own bib pick-up. Worldloppet Masters can attend the Pasta Party on Friday night free of charge.

Even children don’t have to miss the atmosphere and red cheeks of Finlandia Ski Marathon. Lasten Finlandia (Children’s Finlandia) is a free ski event for children that go to school in the Lahti area. The event was first organized in 2014, when nearly 2000 young skiers got to enjoy the tracks of Lahti Sports Centre. Lasten Finlandia, which is held a couple weeks before the actual Finlandia Ski Marathon, is doing important work enabling everyone to enjoy the magic of winter sports. Different sports organizations have an important role in helping children grow their love for an active lifestyle. Whether you want to get to know new people, enjoy the warmth of a sauna or have an unforgettable weekend with your family, Finlandia Ski Marathon offers a comprehensive experience in the Finnish winter wonderland.
