The event will start with the introduction of the countries. The parade will line up in alphabetical order by country in front of Restaurant Ravintola Voitto in the event area (please be in the location at 15:40). Each country will choose one of its members to carry a sign of their country ahead of the rest of the team. The parade will enter the stadium through a tunnel between the jump-hills and the stadium making a full circle around the sports field in a counter-clockwise direction. After the tour, the parade stops facing the large scoreboard at the stadium and the opening speeches will start.
The Opening ceremony will last approximately 30-40 minutes. After the ceremony, we will prepare for the first part of the race - the 5 km race which will start at 18:00.

Competition Rules
-
Participants need to complete the race within the following time limits:
5 km: 1 hour
10 km: 2 hours
21 km: 4 hours
-
The approved length of the pole in a race can be calculated as follows:
0.68 x athlete's height +/- 10 cm
Example: an athlete is 170 cm tall: according to the formula 170*0.68 = 115.6 so the legal length of the pole for the athlete is 106-126 cm.
Nordic Walking technique in the competitions
ARM SWING:
The arm should swing from the shoulder joint and not from the elbow. At the start of the arm movement, when the pole tip is placed on the ground, the hand should be forward of the hips. As the push with the pole continues backwards the hand should extend at least to the hip and ideally beyond.
POSITIONING OF THE POLE ON THE GROUND:
The spike tip of the pole should hit the ground in the area between the toes of the front foot and the heel of the back foot, so that the pole is always angled backwards (approx. 45 degrees to the ground).
One pole must always be on the ground, i.e. it is not allowed that both poles are held in the air at the same time.
FEET:
One foot must always be on the ground. Running is prohibited.
